Travel guide

The hill of San Pedro is a peak of the Sierra de Guadarrama, belonging to the Central System of the Iberian Peninsula. It is located in the center of the Community of Madrid, in Spain. The peak, with an altitude of 1425 meters, is one of the island mountains of the southern slope of Guadarrama, an expression that alludes to those mountainous formations that are located isolated with respect to the main alignment.
This peak is known for its remarkable views, since it is isolated in a relatively flat area when compared to the great elevations of the Sierra de Guadarrama, such as Peñalara or Cabezas de Hierro.
In spring, its slopes are covered with wild flowers, which will attract a large number of insects, especially the Butterflies that come to feed.
After lunch we will go to the Pass of La Morcuera, which is a mountain pass at 1776 meters above sea level, located in the Sierra de Guadarrama belonging to the Central system, within the Community of Madrid and included within the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
