Llanos de Cáceres and Monfragüe

Travel guide

If you want to see and get to know the European Roller and  Black Storks in their reproductive period, don't think twice and come with me on this trip.

First we will go to the vicinity of Cáceres Capital, specifically the so-called Llanos de Cáceres to see the colorful European Roller and steppe Birds that are protected there.

About noon we will go to the beautiful Monfragüe National Park and we will be able to contemplate how the Black Storks feed their chicks regardless of human presence. The same happens with the Griffon Vultures and Egyptian Vultures.

You can see the blog with the photos of a previous trip in: Llanos de Cáceres y Monfragüe

Weather is usually pleasant at this time of year but it can also be a bit hot.

IIt is advisable to bring some warm clothing for the morning and late afternoon. Sun protection and a cap or hat are essential. With comfortable shoes to walk through the field is enough because we will not walk much.

Low. The trip to the observation places is done in vehicle and there are no long walks.
